The Douglas County Museum provides a place of discovery and wonder featuring exhibits and programs directed towards active, hands-on learning for all ages. Located in the heart of their natural history gallery, "Junior Naturalists" allows children to discover a 19th century explorer’s field camp and study filled with natural specimens, children’s books, and live native animals snakes, lizards and turtles. An adjacent exhibit hall focusing on the history of logging describes how humans have used Oregon’s forest resources over the past two centuries. The Douglas County Museum strives to help children understand their relationship with Oregon's rich forests.
