This cross-curricular package includes both classroom and spring or fall field activities. It is designed to stimulate critical thinking and creative problem-solving through role-playing, by helping students make observations about wildlife, soil and water, recreation and timber resources in the forest and then use the information to cooperatively develop their own forest management plans. The Forest Field Day program meets state standards for 8th-grade science and math.
